The Miami Heat faced off against the Utah Jazz on Monday, a game that they knew would be toughly contested. Here’s exactly how they got the job done.

The Miami Heat were facing a very similar team as themselves on Monday night. For clarity, they would be welcoming in the very rough, rugged, and defensive-minded Utah Jazz into American Airlines Arena for what turned out to be an unsurprisingly close contest.

The Miami Heat were the better team for much of the night it seemed, although the Utah Jazz did find a way to go on a lead-taking run in the second half that saw them get out to almost a double-digit lead. The Miami Heat obviously didn’t let that bother them though, as they stormed back to not only take the lead, but take the game in the process.

The Miami Heat can now be called the very best home team in the NBA at the moment. They sit alone at the top as far as home records go, where their 13-1 record is king. Here are more details from the game.

While keeping Rudy Gobert somewhat contained was apart of the recipe for a victory, the Miami Heat didn’t quite do that, although they won the game. Gobert was a problem on the defensive end for the Miami Heat, but they were still able to get just enough done to be effective.

Gobert found himself on the wrong end of a highlight dunk as well in the game. Check it out.

Of course, it was Airplane Mode himself, Derrick Jones Jr. on the giving end of the monster jam. While Gobert was gotten the best of here, he was somewhat dominant throughout the rest of the night and although in a defeat. He finished with 18 points, 20 rebounds, and five blocks.

Somewhat containing Donovan Mitchell was the other part of that recipe that it would take to beat the Jazz on Monday and the Miami Heat were cooking with grease in that area. Mitchell was held to just 13 points on Monday, 12 below his season average of 25.2 points per game.

Tyler Herro was a crucial part of the victory tonight for the Miami Heat. He hit several big shots on several key sequences coming down the stretch of the game that ultimately helped to make it possible for the Heat to get a win.

This was another huge win for the Miami Heat, as they will get a break for the Holidays, before coming back on Friday to begin a tough in-conference back to back set. They will take on the Indiana Pacers on Friday, before taking on Philadelphia again for what is the third time in a relatively short period of time already this season. Either way, we can’t wait to see it!
