The Miami Heat have a chance to send a very clear message this weekend

The Miami Heat have a tough set of games this weekend. If they can somehow find a way to win both games, it would send shockwaves through the East.

The Miami Heat are one of the better teams in the Eastern Conference and that is a for sure thing. When looking at them compared to the rest of the NBA as a whole, they are probably no worst than the fifth-best team in the league right now. While some may doubt, they have a resume that would absolutely say otherwise.

They have beaten the Houston Rockets, Milwaukee Bucks, Philadelphia 76ers, and the Toronto Raptors, giving the Toronto team their first home loss of the season when they beat them back in the early part of December. While they have taken some losses at the hands of contending teams as well, including the Los Angeles Lakers on two occasions, both the Rockets and the 76ers, and the Denver Nuggets, they’ve beaten some of the better teams as well and that must be accounted for in appraisals.

They have a tough set of games coming up this weekend as well to continue to try to build their resume, with the Indiana Pacers coming to South Beach on Friday, followed by a visit from the Philadelphia 76ers that will make the third matchup of the season and in a relatively short period of time. While these teams appear to be grouped into the collection of teams at the top of the East, the Miami Heat should still be favored in both contests.

There is something to think about here though, although the Miami Heat should be favored as mention and rightfully so being at home, back to back wins in this particular situation could be astronomical for this Miami Heat team. The conditions of such victories would only amplify the fact that they would be knocking off two teams that look to be contenders in their own conference.

Looking at the condition of potentially being on back to back nights, wins here would send shockwaves throughout the conference, and possibly even the entire league. Yes, it would simply be the Heat beating who’s on their schedule, but it would show the ability to play really well consistently against steep competition, which is what the playoffs are all about.

The Miami Heat are expected to play well at this point, as they should, so continue to expect them to deliver. If they are able to pull two victories out of this back to back set though, the Miami Heat will be circled on everybody’s calendars for sure, as if they already aren’t.
