Miami Heat players, fans, brass and all the other people around the world were stunned at the news of Kobe Bryant’s unfortunate passing on Sunday.

The entire basketball world including the Miami Heat, the sports world, and the entire world in general for that matter was stunned on Sunday afternoon. The shock and horror were at the news that one of the all-time great NBA players, athletes in general, artists, thinkers, competitors, and people according to those that knew him best, had perished in a tragic manner.

By now, most of us are aware of the unfortunate and saddening loss of Kobe Bryant. As soon as the news began to trickle in people were already hoping that it wasn’t real. Once confirmation and reliable sourcing had taken place, the very devastating reality began to set in.

With the news confirmed, the reactions and statements began to pour out. From old teammates to old coaches, to old opponents, to other all-time greats and legends, the reactions were swift, heartfelt, and gut-wrenching to take in.

This was no different from the reactions from those associated with the Miami Heat. Miami Heat and NBA legend Dwyane Wade made a heartfelt video post for his Instagram page in reaction to the news.

Miami Heat owner Micky Arison tweeted out his instant reaction. The Miami Heat also put out a statement from team president Pat Riley.

"Kobe Bryant was a Godsend to this world; not just to the NBA, but to all those who hold dear and cherish family, friends and faith. Today I mourn the tremendous loss of Kobe, his daughter, Gianna, and the other passengers. The Lord will bless Vanessa, the entire Bryant family, and all of those who lost their most precious loved ones today."

The Miami Heat players were just as stunned as the team owner and architect. Most of the players said something, even if it was just their immediate reaction to hearing the news.

Former Miami Heat champion and all-time great big man Shaquille O’Neal, who also just so happened to be Kobe’s teammate and apart of one of the greatest tandems that the world has ever seen in any arena, field, or walk of life, had a very tender post on the matter. Here’s what Shaq had to say.

It was indeed a tragedy.

While everyone wasn’t exactly in love with Kobe or a fan, everyone respected his game and his greatness. If you were or are a fan of the game itself, you had to.

The world, the NBA, and especially the Los Angeles Lakers faithful and family lost a great one on Sunday. Kobe Bryant will forever be missed.
