The Miami Heat welcomed the Orlando Magic into AAA on Wednesday night for their 4th and final matchup of the year. Here’s how they got the win.
The Miami Heat came into Wednesday’s game fresh off of what most people would call their most impressive win of the season. Not only did they knock off the league-leading Milwaukee Bucks, but they relatively held down their best two players along the way.
Off of that impressive victory for this Miami team, they would be welcoming in their in-state rivals, the Orlando Magic. With a 2-1 record over the Magic in their three previous matchups this season and with their rambunctious history against one another, this was sure to be another highly contested game between the two teams of the Sunshine State.
It was indeed and the Magic almost pulled it out. They may have done just that if it weren’t for the hot shooting of the Miami Heat. They had a record-breaking night all over the floor and from many different people.

Goran Dragic surpassed Dwyane Wade on the Miami Heat’s All-Time three-pointers list to move into fifth place all-time. Duncan Robinson also passed John Starks to move up the list even higher when it comes to threes made in a single season by an undrafted player.
As a franchise, the record books weren’t safe either. They set a new record for threes made in a half with 13 as well as threes made in a game with 22.

As a team, they were 22/44 for an even 50 percent shooting from deep. Kendrick Nunn made 3-7 shots from range, while Duncan Robinson had a career night, sinking 9-12 of his three-point attempts on Wednesday.
Kelly Olynyk went 3-3 from downtown, Jae Crowder sunk one of his eight attempts, while Andre Iguodala even joined the party in going 1-2 from the long-distance line. En route to moving ahead of Dwyane Wade on the franchise’s all-time three-point makes list as we mentioned, Goran Dragic sunk 5-9 of his three-point shots as well.
It was a great shooting night for the Miami Heat. That is simply what allowed them to get off to a good start, hang around, and eventually squeak by with this victory.
They get a day off before going down on the Bayou to face the high flying New Orleans Pelicans. They haven’t experienced Zion Williamson yet and while it should be exciting, it isn’t intimidating because he hasn’t experienced Bam Adebayo yet either. That should be a very explosive matchup and we can’t wait to see it.
