The Miami Heat may be idle like every other team at the moment, but the headlines aren’t. Here are some of the more popular ones from the last week.

It seems like so long ago that Miami Heat basketball was last played. Heck, it seems like so long ago that any kind of basketball was played, although it hasn’t really been a full week yet.

Alas, just because the basketball temporarily stopped dribbling and for the much greater good in this particular case, that doesn’t mean that the content coverage has stopped. We here at AUCH will do our best to still bring you interesting and thought-provoking content surrounding our favorite little basketball team from Miami. With that in mind, here are some of the more popular stories from AUCH over the past week.

3 ways NBA suspension could hurt them outside of not playing

As has been mentioned over and over again by now, here and everywhere else, the teams aren’t playing. That doesn’t mean that what’s going on now won’t have immediate impacts on how the season ultimately turns out.

While we would love to be watching it all continue to play out at this very moment, in the grand scheme of it all, the Miami Heat may have needed a break and for a few reasons. For a few reasons, this could have been a good thing.

3 reasons the NBA suspension could actually help team

Just as the Miami Heat could use this break that the NBA’s suspension has provided, voluntary or otherwise, perhaps the same thing can be said for other teams. These other teams that we are referencing here are mainly the teams fighting with them for playoff seeding near the top of the Eastern Conference.

As Newton’s Third Law Of Motion goes, “For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction”. This is no truer than in this scenario, where just as the Heat will use this time wisely, so will their opposition. This may not be that good for Miami at all.

Bam Adebayo finally did the thing we’ve all been asking him to

For quite a while now, actually dating back to his rookie season and although not with as great a volume as now, we have been begging Bam Adebayo to be more aggressive. By more aggressive here, we simply mean to look for his shot more as opposed to always looking to be a good teammate and facilitate.

Bam is arguably the second-best player on the team and an NBA All-Star in his own right, meaning he has earned the right to be selfish. Well, he finally took control of a game that he had to do that in order for the Miami Heat to get a win.

He was the Miami Heat’s outright lead dog that night and it worked out exactly as it should have. You just love to see it!

Sioux Falls Skyforce: Jarrett Jack & Marcus Lee leading to the verge of playoffs

Although their season has since been canceled, the Miami Heat’s G-League affiliate in the Sioux Falls Skyforce were surging towards a playoff spot. They were being led by the gangly high flying ball of energy in Marcus Lee and NBA veteran lead guard Jarrett Jack. While we won’t get to see how far they could have made it, we do give you a small glimpse into most of what you needed to know up until this point in their season.

The NBA is gone for a while, with the projections for a base case scenario being June at the moment, but we will still try to bring you the best content. These were some of our best pieces from over the past week and we hope you enjoyed it. Until the next Miami Heat Hot Topics, stay safe and godspeed!
