Is Bam the Most Improved Player?

While we all knew that the only thing separating Bam from superstardom was an opportunity, he finally got that opportunity full time this season with Hassan Whiteside being shipped off from the Miami Heat to Portland. Let’s just say that he saw a crack in the door and decided to kick the door down.

He played so well in the first half of the season, that he propelled himself to his very first All-Star bid. In that same light, he looked as if he was well on his way to capturing the NBA’s Most Improved Player award. This is something that has us thinking right now, which is that if the suspension never ends, does he still win the award?

Coach Spo definitely a contender for Coach of The Year

Miami Heat head man Erik Spoelstra has never won a coach of the year award. First off, can you believe that? We can’t either.

Secondly, this year had provided just the opportunity needed for Coach Spo to finally secure such a prestigious honor. Coming into this season with a microscope on him, rightfully or not based on some of the conversations that blew up the headlines this past offseason, but he took that attention and turned it right back around on the establishment.

He has taken a team that no one thought would do anything and helped them become one of the absolute best teams in the league this year, that’s a fact. While Nick Nurse in Toronto has a strong case with the success they’ve had this season after losing Kawhi Leonard, Coach Spo has just as strong a case in seemingly going from rags to riches in one season. This is the third question that the suspension may leave unanswered.
