Miami Heat: Some of the greatest hoppers in team history
JUMP AROUND!
Brent Barry
Known more at this point for being that quirky, yet entertaining and informative guy on NBATV, Brent Barry was a title-winning baller at one point. Not only was he just a baller, but he was also what we call a high flyer.
Winning the 1996 NBA Slam Dunk Contest, Barry should be known as well for his ability to rise up. Although it wasn’t a pretty win, he won nevertheless and showed that he could skywalk in the process.
Shannon Brown
Although he didn’t have as long an NBA career as many of us thought he should have, when he was on the floor, Shannon Brown was a highlight reel waiting to happen. Although he didn’t play a ton for Miami, he still dawned a jersey and thus makes this list. The fact that he has been reported to have a “top vertical leap” of 44.5 inches doesn’t hurt either.
Dwyane Wade
The greatest Miami Heat player of all time, Dwyane Wade’s early NBA years were a running reel of high flying acrobatics. From his dunk on Kevin Garnett to his dunk on Anderson Varejou, Flash has poked it on them all. Here is one of my favorite Father Prime slams of all time.
Dwyane Wade is the greatest Heat player ever for more reasons than his high-flying acrobatics, but that surely didn’t hurt his case. Because we all deserve it, here is a montage of his greatest dunks on every team in the NBA. We miss you FLASH!
Rex Chapman
Known more at this point for his “block or charge” videos on Twitter, Rex Chapman was a high flying baller at one point in time. Throw in the fact that “he’s rumored to have reached a vertical jump of 39 inches” and there you have it. Block, charge, or get dunked on should be the way that it goes for this great hopper.
