The Miami Heat landed the enigmatic Josh Jackson in FanSided’s NBA Network re-draft. Here’s proof they could maximize his talent to the fullest.

The Miami Heat are good at almost everything, great at a lot, and bad at almost nothing. One of those areas where their greatness really rises to the top though is when they are tasked with taking a player that no one wants or that no one thinks is worthy of said roster spot and not only turning him into a good rotational player but something that other teams now are suddenly interested in again.

It has happened a lot across the existence of the franchise. Gerald Green had a resurgence of sorts in South Beach. Dion Waiters practically proved over a few games that he still has the goods.

Hassan Whiteside can still be found swatting shots in the league because of what the Miami Heat were able to help him do. Heck, look no further than their current aerial assault artist in Derrick Jones Jr.

Discarded by the Phoenix Suns as a throwaway, he is not only now the reigning slam dunk king, but a meaningful and valuable member of the Miami Heat’s rotation. That is just where we would like to begin focusing though.

With the Miami Heat selecting Josh Jackson in the FanSided NBA Network 2017 NBA re-draft, this is the perfect comparison. Here is why Derrick Jones Jr. is proof that the Miami Heat could have gotten the absolute best out of Jackson from day one.
