After dropping a Dwyane Wade diss track, Aaron Gordon is bracing for Wade to drop a song of his own in response

Even in retirement, Miami Heat legend Dwyane Wade is finding a way to keep the Florida rivalry between Orlando Magic and Miami Heat fans going.

To catch you up to speed if you’ve missed it, Dwyane Wade kept Aaron Gordon from winning the All-Star Weekend Slam Dunk Contest this year by rating one of his dunks a 9 out of 10.

The “9 out of 10” meme was born, and Gordon, who recently kicked off a musical venture, decided to make his second song a diss track to Wade titled “9 out of 10.”

Speaking to the Load Management podcast, Gordon was pressed about the possibility that Wade taps on his friend, Miami icon and musical artist Rick Ross, who Wade released a song with a few months ago along with Udonis Haslem.

"“He will, bro. I am just sitting here talking with my family right now, now he’s going to have to get back in the booth, man. That’ll be good man, it’s all for the entertainment, all for the sport of it, you know what I mean? This is like a tension that uplifts,” Gordon said."

If Wade does call on Ross for help producing or writing a response to Gordon, it might be all over for AG. Ross is an iconic and accomplished artist and arguably one of the greatest features to land for the top-tier of musicians, not just athletes trying to do music as a side project. When you see “feat. Rick Ross” you know it’s going to be a hit.

When asked about if he has any aces up the sleeve to pull out if this rap battle goes any further, Gordon also didn’t seem to have much ammunition.

"“The only ace up the sleeve is I’m still on the court and he’s not… On the contrary to that, he’s now a sports analyst and commentator, so he’s going to be watching, and I like that.”"

But of course, why would Gordon come right out and tell what he’s got?

Gordon mentioned later in the podcast that he was planning on reaching out to Andre Drummond, who also does some rapping on the side, so we could see him hop on the next AG track. Whether that’s a further rebuttal to Wade remains to be seen, and the ball is in Wade’s court currently.

The people want a Wade response. We’ll see if he keeps the entertaining rivalry between two Florida sports icons going.
