If there is a Bradley Beal sweepstakes, the Miami Heat won’t be alone in their chase to acquire the star guard via trade.

The Bradley Beal trade rumors have been swirling since before the season’s start, with the Miami Heat having been consistently named one of the more convincing destinations.

But a recent report from Stefan Bondy of the Daily News suggests they aren’t the only team interested in the star shooting guard:

"“Immersed in their championship window, the Brooklyn Nets are in the market for a third star and have internally discussed avenues of acquiring Wizards guard Bradley Beal, the Daily News has learned.”"

Bondy goes on to suggest a package centered around Spencer Dinwiddie, Caris LeVert, and Jarrett Allen. It’s hard to tell whether that would move the needle for the Washington Wizards.

Beal hasn’t officially been made available, despite the Wizards 24-40 record this season. He signed a two-year extension back in October, with a player option for the 2022-2023 season.

This makes it clear for teams looking to embrace their championship window, that trading for the guard is the quickest way to bring him into the fold. Miami has also been rumored to be looking for a third star, with Beal being among the focuses of their search.

The Heat could offer some package centered around any of their three young guards: Duncan Robinson, Kendrick Nunn, or Tyler Herro, but draft compensation isn’t the club’s strong suit.

Due to past trades and transactions, Miami can only trade one first-round pick between now and the 2021-2022 season.

It sounds like the Heat will have to get creative with a trade package if they plan on making a run at Beal, should Washington make him available. The Wizards guard paired with Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo would make for a formidable ‘Big 3’ in Miami.

The Miami Heat, as they’ve no doubt previously known, won’t be alone in attempting to pry Bradley Beal from the Washington Wizards. The Brooklyn Nets have emerged as the latest team to have rumored interest. Could they put together a more enticing trade package?
