Miami Heat: 3 reasons why Tyler Herro is wearing a Milwaukee Bucks jersey
It’s no secret Jimmy Butler and Tyler Herro have grown close this season. Could the Miami Heat alpha have put the rookie up to this?
A far more entertaining theory to Tyler Herro’s slightly bold Instagram story on Tuesday is the ultimate irony: it meant nothing. Even further, maybe teammate Jimmy Butler put him up to it.
Have you ever lost a bet? Was the consequence both uncomfortable and entertaining? That’s no doubt what today’s players would call being forced to start drama amongst NBA Twitter.
In recent years players have become incredibly aware of their impact on social media and the ever-spinning rumor mill. They’ve gone as far as tweeting ominous emoticons around the trade deadline, or starting a GoFundMe account to determine the next team they sign with.
And it’s no secret that Butler is a fan of chaos. From his interview with Rachel Nichols while a member of the Minnesota Timberwolves, to the constant entertainment that is his own Instagram account; Miami’s top dog is always looking to stir the pot.
Herro’s become somewhat of a Robin to his Batman this year. Miami’s rookie is featured on a number of Butler’s own Instagram posts, oftentimes captioned “#TylerTuesdays.”
No one behind the scenes could have convinced Tyler Herro to put this Instagram story out other than Miami’s own Jimmy Butler. If the two players had any kind of inside joke running, this would be an excellent way to play with the minds of both fans and executives alike.
Tyler Herro likely didn’t mean anything by proudly donning Ray Allen’s Milwaukee Bucks jersey. But as always is the case with the NBA, speculation rules the day.
Whether it be a tribute to Jesus Shuttlesworth, a recruitment pitch to Giannis Antetokounmpo, or fun and games behind the scenes; almost nothing falls short of news these days.
