Former Miami Heat champion & NBA legend, Shaquille O’Neal, has transitioned nicely into the media world. He has also become the ‘King Midas’ of advertising.

The Miami Heat have always managed to be able to thrust themselves into the spotlight, when they have needed to.

As if they wanted that much attention, that was the case in 2010 immediately after LeBron James and The Decision. To further exacerbate that scenario, they then turned around and conducted the infamous pep rally, where the phrase “Not one, not two, not three, not four” was uttered.

Yea, that one.

More from Heat History

There is another occassion where the Miami Heat didn’t need any help drumming up publicity either. This was the one prior to the 2004-05 season where they traded for all time NBA great, a man who would go on to become a Miami Heat champion, and arguably the best big man of all time in Shaquille O’Neal, or Shaq as we all know him.

Former Miami Heat champion, Shaq, is an all-time great on the court. He is also becoming an all-time great in the advertising space.

A man of gargantuan talent, size, and personality, Shaq not only dominated on the floor with his play, but he knew how to dominate the headlines and public relations sphere as well. Always one to make a joke, give a silly remark, or make light of things in the most respectful way, it’s no wonder that he has gone on to become the product king that he is.

What I mean by product king is the fact that Shaquille O’Neal is not only a spokesman for many of our favorite or most recognizable brands, but he is very good at it and only seems to be continuing to add credits to his resume.

He was back at it on Sunday night during the 2020 BET Awards, although this time for a familiar face in an ad for The General auto insurance. It seemed custom made for the awards, as the awards were for this particular year, but like everything else he seems to do, he didn’t miss.

Check it out for yourself!

The man has the King Midas touch when it comes to products and advertising. Everything he touches seems to turn into gold. Well, at least the commercials, ads, catchphrases, and the additions they make to pop culture fit that description.

Plain and simple, if you want to sell something, find a huge check to give to the huge man we all call Shaq. That seems to be the gist of it all. You know why that’s the case, because he is so good at it.
