Miami Heat sharpshooter, Duncan Robinson, recently mentioned that he’s been studying some of the NBA’s greatest shooters. Here’s what to make of it.

The Miami Heat are one of the purest examples of good ole fashioned, good luck. While that phrase implies a certain level of chance on most occasions, we tend to prescribe to a certain common cliche of a definition.

Attributed to the Roman philosopher Seneca, our definition of good luck or luck, in general, is the one that states that luck is simply where preparation meets opportunity. The Miami Heat are always prepared and to go even further than the cliche, Pat Riley tends to search out the most prime opportunities, or simply creates them himself.

With that in mind, our focus today shines a spotlight on a certain Miami Heat flamethrower named Duncan Robinson. Why the luck of the Miami Heat matters here is because they were fortunate enough to mine this undrafted gem who unceremoniously started at a Division III college, before going on the Michigan where he would at least catch the eye of NBA scouts.

In any situation, Robinson recently got real talkative about himself, something we haven’t really seen a ton of from the three-point specialist.

The Miami Heat found themselves a good one when they picked up undrafted free agent Duncan Robinson a season or so ago. He’s proving it to the league this year.

While he dished on a few things such as how or if he’s been able to maintain any semblance of defensive workouts during the suspension and how his unheralded career up until this point has prepared him to play in empty gyms, those weren’t even the most interesting tidbits he gave. Here’s the one that most piqued our interest.

Well, If you’re going to take notes on shooting, those aren’t the worst people to be taking them from. In fact, those are probably two of the best when it comes to flat-out nailing the deep ball.

However and while, you can never be too good at anything, he should look to expand that inquiry into the art of shooting. Two names that come to mind for me are Reggie Miller and Peja Stojakovic.

Though they were both adept at the catch and shoot from multiple platforms, they were both also capable of taking the one to two dribbles in order to create just a bit more space. That would be the ideal next step of Duncan Robinson’s evolution for this Miami Heat team.

Next. Moving Duncan Robinson for Bradley Beal a moot point. dark

While he should definitely try to get better in all areas of shooting the ball, he should add those two to his study reels for observation. While he is arguably the best shooter in the game right now, that would surely take him just that much deeper into that conversation.
