Montrezl Harrell may not be a part of the Clippers’ longterm plans but could be an ideal fit next to Bam Adebayo in the frontcourt.

One of the few guys who can expect a significant payday this offseason is Montrezl Harrell.

At 26 years old, the big man has found himself in competition with his teammate, Lou Williams for the league’s Sixth Man of the Year award. Similar to the Heat, as the Clippers strive to contend for a championship, some guys will naturally price themselves out of the team’s budget.

Harrell’s time in LA has likely come to an end. Even without a reliable shot from deep, he’d make a lot of sense next to Adebayo in the frontcourt. He’s averaging 18.6 points, 7.1 rebounds, and 1.1 blocks almost entirely off the bench this year for the Clippers.

It’s unclear what Harrell will command in a market as unknown as this one. But if the Heat can bring him to South Beach on somewhat of a friendly deal, he’d make sense in the starting lineup or coming off of the bench. Someone to keep an eye on in the NBA’s quarantine finish to the year.

Among conversations that will be had inside hotels and courts in Orlando, Florida, the Miami Heat and their players should keep an eye on the three aforementioned players. As they continue their efforts to bring another championship to South Beach, any of these guys would help.
