Miami Heat rookie, Tyler Herro, has started to make a name for himself, on and off the court. His on-court escapades, however, seem to be impressing people.

The Miami Heat couldn’t have possibly known the full extent of what they were getting as they decided to draft Tyler Herro with the 13th pick in last season’s draft. They did get a taste of his confidence though, as he said that he was the rookie with the most “drip”, immediately after being drafted.

Well, not only are the Miami Heat, his teammates, and the Miami Heat fans impressed by his confidence and what they’ve seen from the rookie thus far, former NBA players can be counted in that number too.

In an interview with former NBA ballers Quentin Richardson and Darius Miles of the Knuckleheads Podcast from The Players’ Tribune, former Kentucky great, NBA baller, current NBA analyst, and social media sensation, Rex Chapman, talked up the swagger filled young shooter from Wisconsin. Here is a clip, see for yourself.

While they spoke on quite a few interesting things here, there were a few things that stuck out to me more than others. First off, let’s give it up for the two former Miami Heat players here. Rex Chapman and Quentin Richardson know the culture.

Miami Heat rookie sharpshooter Tyler Herro is ‘a bucket’. We aren’t the only ones who can see what he has to offer though.

The first thing that really stuck out to me though is how Chapman says when he asked Herro about why he flipped his college commitment to Kentucky from Wisconsin, his home town college, he simply stated that he was trying to get to the NBA.

They all kind of lit up with joy and excitement, which makes sense when guys like these hear something like that. They are “hoopers”, as Q Rich states in the clip and hoopers just want to hoop.

So, to hear that it was always strictly about getting to the next level and the grandest level of playing hoops, that was music to their ears. It also shows the focus that Herro has had for a long time though.

The second thing that really stuck out to me, looking back at how Chapman and Richardson know the culture, is how they basically said that Miami is the best place for him or anybody for that matter.

Speaking towards the Miami Heat culture again, they both agreed that being and starting there is not only good for him, but if he can be great there then he can be great anywhere. Richardson made the following statement that totally sums up the concept we are trying to hit on here.

"When you get drafted and you start off there, like everything else is going to be easy after this. If he doesn’t stay in Miami forever, wherever else he goes, it won’t be any harder. It may be as hard, but it won’t be any harder than what he’s doing today."

Darius Miles, having never even played for Miami, nodded, saying “yeah” in agreement and Chapman chimed in with, “I’m with you 100 percent”.

They all know the culture with the Miami Heat and they’ve seen what Herro can do. Together, they can accomplish some great things and we can see that already with our own eyes.

Next. 5 players around the league that feel like future ‘Culture’ guys. dark

It’s always great to have those that have played at the highest level validate it for you though. That’s what happened here. Tyler Herro is just getting started and by no means has accomplished anything of merit on the NBA level yet, but, he’s on the right track and others are seeing it too.
