The Miami Heat got a tough win over the Boston Celtics on Tuesday night. Without Jimmy Butler, they pretty much controlled the game from the opening tip.

The Miami Heat got a much-needed victory on Tuesday night. Much needed indeed, after Monday’s poor outcome against the Toronto Raptors.

They came out and jumped right on the Boston Celtics from the jump. The game got pretty close at times, but the Miami Heat expanded the lead once again when it did.

The Miami Heat led by as many as 16 points at one point in the game, but the Celtics again closed the gap. It came down to the final plays, honestly.

After a Goran Dragic travel call gave the Celtics a chance to hit a three to bring them within three points with around 20 seconds remaining in the game, they proceeded to close the gap behind a Kemba Walker three-pointer.

The Miami Heat would turn out to get fouled on the following sequence, after taking a timeout to advance the ball to halfcourt and devise a plan. Andre Iguodala sank the first free throw before missing the second, where none other than Duncan Robinson would grab the board. He would end up fouled and sent to the line, where he would all but ice it.

It was a great team win in all senses of the word for the Miami Heat and as cliche as that might sound, it is nothing but the truth when you consider the fact that they were without their leader in Jimmy Butler. Everyone stepped up in a major way though.

Kelly Olynyk had 15 points, six rebounds, and eight assists, Bam Adebayo had 21 points, 12 rebounds, and two dimes of his own, while Duncan Robinson was his usual self again with 21 points, three rebounds and two assists on 5-11 from deep.

Goran Dragic and Tyler Herro played really key parts in the victory as well. Dragic went for 20 points, three boards, three assists, while Herro added in 3 rebounds and assists each to go along with his 11 points.

There was only one negative at all to this game. Goran Dragic didn’t finish along with his team, as he appeared to tweak something on the second to final Heat sequence that led to Iggy splitting the pair of free throws. We will look for more updates there though, as we hope and need him to be alright for the Miami Heat’s chances moving forward.

With all of this occurring though, there were three things that I took from the game more than any other. Here are the three lessons I think we learned from this game.
