The Miami Heat are a good team, but how good? At their best, they can be as good as anyone.

When the Miami Heat are shooting the ball well, they can beat anyone

While you would prefer them to play defense as they did at times against the Boston Celtics on Tuesday in all of their contests, that won’t always be the case. While that effort will always be there, the Miami Heat have become a team where you can count on the deep shooting.

Leading the league in overall three-point percentage at 38.4 percent currently, a position they’ve found themselves in for a good part of the season or close to, the Miami Heat have strangely become an offensive team. Imagine that, a day when the Miami Heat defense isn’t always as reliable as their three-point shooting is.

We know, it’s a real Twilight Zone moment, but that has been the case at times this year. However, when the three-ball is going for them, most nights as mentioned, they can beat anybody.

Even if it’s just Duncan going nuts, as he often does, with Dragic, Herro, Nunn, Olynyk, and Crowder more than admirably picking up the slack, that’s more than enough to get it done. Heck, when Duncan Robinson is going good on his own, he’s one man floor spacing.

He’s so lethal that teams always have to keep at least two sets of eyes on him, if not more. Even still though, with he and the rest of the sharpshooters on this Heat team, the threat of them shooting opens up a ton of space for everything other than the three.

It’s a real gift that keeps on giving. With the way that this Boston Celtics game turned out compared to Monday’s Toronto Raptors game where they couldn’t buy a shot, especially sans Jimmy Butler, it tells you that the Miami Heat can beat anyone if they are hitting their shots. It also says that they can lose when they are not, but let’s not dwell on that.

The Miami Heat get a day off before they are right back at it. They will face a Milwaukee Bucks team on Thursday that will be coming off of two straight losses.

They were defeated in a tight one by the Houston Rockets on Sunday, before dropping a tough one to the Brooklyn Nets on Tuesday. They should be fired up but so should the Heat off a huge win like this one.

Hopefully, Goran Dragic is ok and Jimmy Butler is as well. We will need all hands on deck if Thursday is to be a win.

We can’t wait to see it, but these were the three lessons we learned in Tuesday’s win over the Boston Celtics.
