The Miami Heat are on the precipice of entering a surely exciting NBA postseason. What does their current appearance say about their future though?
The Miami Heat came to the bubble and they had a good showing. Although it isn’t over, I would dare to say that we saw everything we wanted to see from this team in the bubble.
They had good solid team victories as a complete unit, when everyone was healthy, while they also had good solid team victories while missing a couple of key components and sometimes, simultaneously.
The Miami Heat’s eight-game bubble seeding schedule was largely a success. That was just the regular season portion though, as now the real fun begins. After their final game on Friday against the Indiana Pacers, the Miami Heat are off until Tuesday, where their first-round series against these very same Pacers is set to tip-off.
Before we get there though, let’s discuss this. Here are a few bullet points on what the Miami Heat’s present, says about their future.
Goran Dragic will be resigned
Looking at this team’s chemistry and the way they operate are the first things that make one lean towards this being the notion. With Goran Dragic in the last year of his deal, the Miami Heat should want to keep him around.
What he has done for this Miami Heat team this season has been remarkable and while his role off the bench, could have and can extend his prime for a few more years. Every player seems to have an extended prime due to the way the game is played and called in this era, Dragic seems no different.
While it might not be largely considered at all, you also have to, at least slightly, consider Dragic’s impact on players like Derrick Jones Jr. While you probably want to keep them both around anyway, while Dragic is important, and valuable in his own right, if you are going to want to keep and get the absolute best out of Jones Jr. moving forward, keeping Dragic in the fold is probably your best bet there.
