Miami Heat Rumors: 3 things they’ve shown Giannis Antetokounmpo in playoffs
The Miami Heat have shooters, a few of them. That’s at least one of the things you need to get the most out of The Greek Freak.
“We Got Shooters!”
Most notably and infamously known as the saying heard around the world from former Miami Heat center, current Portland Trail Blazer, and homebody, Hassan Whiteside, it has come to be an inside joke for Miami Heat supporters.
What it also has become or evolved into is a stone-cold fact about the Miami Heat. You have Tyler Herro, Jae Crowder, Kelly Olynyk, Goran Dragic, of course Duncan Robinson, and even Jimmy Butler has stepped up to hit a big shot or two from deep in these playoffs.
The Miami Heat even have a little more shooting than that, but you get the picture with all the names that were mentioned. Giannis Antetokoumpo needs to be surrounded by shooters and/or someone so skilled that it doesn’t matter where they operate from.
So, someone pretty much interchangeable with him, the positions he occupies on the floor, and his skillset. Basically, that’s a Bam Adebayo.
Can you imagine a Bam Adebayo/Giannis Antetokoumpo pick and roll? With both being able to be the ballhandler or the roll guy, that could spell terror for opposing big men or any defending unit.
Can you also imagine a world where Giannis or Bam drives the lane, only to have three shooters and the one of them that isn’t driving the lane as kick out options?
You’re bordering on the line of unguardable, teetering upon the fault of being flawless. We should all be drooling just thinking about it.
So, again, basically between the shooters they have and Bam Adebayo’s versatility, the Miami Heat already have a really good scenario in place to get the best out of Giannis’s abilities.
