The Miami Heat lost on Sunday, but they found something else. Hot-shooting should help them end things in Game Five.
They Found Their All-Around Three-Point Shooting
Basically, this means that Duncan came around. After struggling in the first three games of this series, he finally found his stroke again.
Going a combined 6-20 in the three previous games of this series, he finally broke out of that slump on Sunday in Game Four. Duncan Robinson went 6-12 from deep to finish with 20 points. That can only be taken as a good sign for the Miami Heat.
When you combine the fact that their sniper has found his shot again, with the fact that they were aware how bad they were on Sunday, and with the fact that Khriss Middleton had to become someone totally new and upgraded to win, Sunday’s defeat shouldn’t seem that bad now.
Toss in the fact that Jae Crowder continued his hot shooting, going 6-12 from deep as well and you have another reason to smile. Lastly, the late Herroics from our rookie in Tyler Herro was the cherry on top of the ice cream sundae we needed to cheer us up after the defeat.
Listen, we wanted to win the game on Sunday and end things there, but it didn’t happen. The fact remains still that no team has ever come back from 0-3 down in a series to win it and they’ve only won one so far.
To be even franker, you actually appreciate experiencing some adversity now so they aren’t unfamiliar if it were to happen in a bigger moment than this. Even without that though, if you just take into account the three factors laid out above, they, themselves are three reasons to be extremely optimistic heading into Game Five.
