Miami Heat: When it comes to LeBron James, you are all hypocrites
Former Miami Heat champ and All-Timer, LeBron James, recently let his thoughts be known on the MVP race. A lot of people didn’t like it and they’re hypocrites.
The Miami Heat are busy battling the Boston Celtics in the Eastern Conference Finals, while the Los Angeles Lakers just handled the Denver Nuggets in Game One of their Western Conference Finals series on Friday night.
While there is a game to be played by our beloved Miami Heat on Saturday night, it isn’t the actual play on the floor that has our attention right now. It was recently announced that Giannis Antetokounmpo would be winning his second MVP Award, the one from this season.
In response to Giannis winning that award, former Miami Heat champion and all-time NBA great, LeBron James, was asked how he felt about it. This is what he had to say.
First of all, a “pissed” off LeBron is a problem for everyone else. Second off though, a lot of people seem to take issue with what it is that he said.
My question is this. Why?
He clearly paid respect to the winner of the award and his gripe wasn’t so much about not winning the entire thing outright as much as the fact that he only received 16 first-place votes.
Out of 101 total first-place votes, LeBron James received only 16 of those, while only he and Giannis received votes. As the second greatest player to ever lace them up, the greatest player still playing the game today, and as the leader of the best team in the Western Conference, the man deserved more than 16 first-place votes.
That’s his gripe. That’s obviously what you all are missing.
I get it though, you all just love to poo poo LeBron, but let’s think about this. What if his gripe was about not winning the award?
I still wouldn’t mind. Here’s why.
The first criticism that you all always have of LeBron Raymone James is that “he isn’t Michael Jordan” or that he doesn’t have Jordan’s competitive will or killer instinct.
Well, to me, this sounds Jordanesque. This is the very same thing Jordan would have done, or worst if put in this very same scenario during his dominance over the league.
Whether you Like what he said or not, whether you like his approach or not, heck, or whether you even like the man or not, what he said was right. His season was worth more than 16 first-place votes, bar none.
Again, you all are so quick to criticize LeBron, for everything, because it gets your Q Score up or your likes up, but will also chastise
him out of the same lips for not having MJ’s mentality. Laughable.
This is why, when it comes to LeBron James, you are all hypocrites. He’s still the king, the league is still his throne, and he has spoken.
