The Miami Heat have taken a commanding lead in the Eastern Conference Finals after their Game 4 win over the Boston Celtics. A look at three takeaways.

While it’s likely the Miami Heat would have preferred less excitement in it’s finish, they’re no doubt content walking away the winners of Game 4, one win away from the NBA Finals.

It took two trips to the charity stripe for Jimmy Butler to seal Wednesday night’s matchup, but he completed three of four free throw shots to ultimately hand his team the win. Miami beat the Boston Celtics 112-109, after losing Game 3 to them in a 117-106 fashion.

Tyler Herro was the best player on the floor for the Heat, finishing with 37 points. Goran Dragic rebounded from his poor Game 3 performance with 22 points, five rebounds, three assists, and two steals. And Bam Adebayo had another 20-point double-double.

Everything was clicking for Miami once they cleared the first quarter with a lead over Boston, their first time accomplishing that in four games this series. Head coach Erik Spoelstra only went eight players deep on his bench, while also handing Solomon Hill his first minutes of the postseason.

A collective effort on defense and continuing to push through poor shooting pushed the Miami Heat over the Boston Celtics in Game 4. A look at three takeaways from Wednesday night.
