The Miami Heat have the option to give Dion Waiters a ring. Should they?

The Lean Years

Yes, Dion Waiters is at some point going to go all Dion Waiters on you. He’s a moody guy and sometimes, that shows up in his play, performance, or lack thereof.

However, at times, Dion Waiters can be an extremely dynamic offensive weapon. That’s how he keeps finding gigs in the league, despite the baggage that comes along with signing him.

At times before this season, Dion Waiters was gold for the Miami Heat. He performed well when they didn’t have a ton of other options to go to.

Like it or not, he is apart of the reason we were able to tolerate some of those teams that led us to this one. That is the first reason.

He Bought In

Before being traded this season, Dion Waiters didn’t play much. However, you didn’t hear a ton about him being a problem, however, with Jimmy Butler in that lockerroom, you can imagine why.

Even when he got a chance though, a random game in the middle of the regular regular season, he performed admirably. Other than the whole gummy incident, Dion wasn’t an issue when not playing and gave the team good run when he finally did.

That’s the second reason he deserves a ring. Other than harm to himself, he didn’t hurt the Heat in this championship season. In fact, he only helped them, but that’s the third reason.
