The Miami Heat team is preparing for the NBA Finals, but that doesn’t mean the Miami Heat organization shouldn’t be preparing for the future.

The Miami Heat are getting set to face off against the Los Angeles Lakers in the NBA Finals. Just over a half-decade removed from the offseason that saw LeBron James leave Miami to head back to Cleveland, before then jumping coasts to the Lakers, the Miami Heat are back!

As mentioned though and with LeBron James, the storylines and narratives wrote themselves. Immediately after the game on Sunday, the clinching game in which the Miami Heat landed themselves a trip to the Finals, the stories and memories started to surface.

That is the core business at hand right now. That is… finding a way to deal with that guy for as many games as it takes and somehow figuring out how to pull away with the Larry O’Brien Trophy.

While that is the Miami Heat’s main objective, as far as the team and the coaching staff goes, the front office, the organization as a whole, and Pat Riley have to keep one ear in the bubble of Orlando and one ear to the streets of free agency and the NBA Draft.

That’s the name of the game and the name of the business. For what it’s worth though, we wouldn’t rather have anyone doing it for us than the guy who’s doing it. That would be one Patrick James Riley.

You know him as Pat Riley… or The Godfather.
