The Miami Heat had a chance to tie the NBA Finals series up at two games each on Tuesday night. Cold shooting late led to them coming up just a bit short.
The Miami Heat had a chance to tie up the series in their NBA Finals faceoff against the Los Angeles Lakers. Coming off of Jimmy Butler‘s historic Game 3 performance, they came into Game 4 with an extra jolt of energy to go atop that.
Bam Adebayo would be making his return to the lineup. After missing the past two games with a neck injury, he would suit up again in these NBA Finals.
The game started out close, with neither team able to fully take control. It remained that way throughout to be honest, with each team taking turns getting out to a lead and swapping that back and forth.
It wasn’t until the fourth quarter where separation really started to happen. The Miami Heat essentially went cold.
As opposed to the rest of the game, where they could return the favor on a basket scored by Los Angeles, they let a few possessions get away from them where they only allowed a basket without scoring one of their own. That was all of the difference that it took.
In the end, it was a few back-breaking plays that sealed the deal. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope had a massive driving layup on Duncan Robinson and Anthony Davis hit a mega three to finally seal the deal, putting them up nine.
The Miami Heat were able to get a quick bucket and a steal, but they were unable to close the gap any further than that. Needless to say and being down 3-1 in this series, they have an uphill battle before them.
Throw in the fact that we are talking about a team being led by LeBron James and Anthony Davis, that makes that just that much harder. If there is a team with a player out there that can do it though, it’s the Miami Heat and Jimmy Butler.
So, while it won’t be easy at all, it is possible. Let’s look forward to Friday’s Game 5 and hope that they can keep this series and their season alive.
