The Miami Heat have a chance to force the greatest thing in sports, a Game 7 showdown. Here’s why all the pressure is on LA to keep it from happening.

The Miami Heat have managed to force a Game 6 in their NBA Finals series with the Los Angeles Lakers. After seemingly taking two knockout blows over this series, the Miami Heat just keep getting up off the mat.

Behind the dominance of Jimmy Butler at times in this series, resembling some of the greats when he’s been at his best, they’ve managed to more than make this a series with the team from Tinsel Town. Here’s the thing though.

At this point in the series, all the pressure is on LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers. There are a few reasons why.

The first reason is that they had seemingly dealt two knockout blows to the Miami Heat. When they went up 2-0 and then again at 3-1, everyone thought that the series was practically over.

Pulling back to withing one game each time, the Miami Heat have a chance to come all the way back from those circumstances on both occasions to force an elimination game for LA. That is pressure for the team wondering… “what do we have to do to put these guys away?”

The Miami Heat can force a final Game 7 in the NBA Finals and all the pressure is on LA to resist.

That answer isn’t an easy one to find. That is the first reason though.

The second reason is this, with everything that they did to get to this point and with this team, they need it. With all of the hype, the Battle of LA, and with the regular season that they had, they were expected to win it all.

The Miami Heat were the fifth seed and although the expectation from us as fans, the team themselves, and others inside that Miami Heat building was/is always the most and excellence, no one else expected this from them. That’s the second reason all the pressure is on LA.

To segue from that, listen, there are no moral victories here as the goal is to win the title once you are in the Finals. However, the Miami Heat are ahead of schedule.

This wasn’t supposed to be the year, but they came in, did the work, and the results yielded themselves. One of our writers here at All U Can Heat likes to remind us that we aren’t guaranteed to be here and he’s right, but we weren’t supposed to be here this year at all by even the calculations of our team president and resident Godfather in Pat Riley.

Again, if we are here, the goal is always to win it, so don’t get it twisted. But the Miami Heat are in a good place moving forward with a setup to do it all over again.

The Miami Heat have a chance to do it this year though! That all continues on Sunday as they hope to force a Game 7 against LA.

All the pressure is on the Lakers though. These have been the reasons why.
