Miami Heat: Goran Dragic’s 2020 Season recap, grade, and superlative

The Miami Heat got all that Goran Dragic had to offer this season. Here are his season grade, recap, and superlative for 2020.
What a year it was for the Miami Heat, especially Goran Dragic. If you can remember the start of the 2019-2020 season, Dragic was in an odd position.
To start the season, NBA Summer League standout Kendrick Nunn took over the starting “point guard” spot from Dragic. Just two years ago, Dragic was an All-Star and now, an undrafted free agent was taking his spot.
Naturally, anybody could understand if Dragic was mad about going to the bench, where the last time he came off the pine was as Steve Nash’s backup, but I digress.
Miami Heat Head Coach Erik Spoelstra brought Dragic into his office to discuss his new role on the team. Let’s be clear, Dragic wasn’t “benched” at the start of the season in favor of rookie guard Kendrick Nunn, he was “maximized”.
Coach Spoelstra said it was never about ability but rather a better fit for Dragic. He wanted a more experienced player in the second unit. According to all reports and everything we saw during the season, Dragic never complained.
Ever since that conversation took place, Dragic was unbelievable coming off the bench and should have gotten more sixth-man votes. Dragic averaged 16.2 Points, 3.2 Rebounds, and 5.1 Assist on the season.
