Miami Heat: Goran Dragic’s 2020 Season recap, grade, and superlative

The Miami Heat got all of the meat off of the bone when it came to Goran Dragic this season.
Throughout the year, Dragic gave Miami that consistent play off the bench and always seemed to score when Miami’s offense was flat. Dragic did his job as the microwave in the regular season, was a good teammate, was not a me-first kind of guy, took his bench role, and did what he had to do.
As everyone knows what happened with covid-19, the NBA took just about three months off. Due to coronavirus, Kendrick Nunn was delayed in arriving to the bubble.
As a result, Miami went back to Dragic as the starting point guard. While The Dragon was reportedly a little bothered by the notion of starting, as he had gotten comfortable coming off of the pine, the true pro that Dragic is jumped into and began to succeed in the starting role once again.
Dragic was huge for Miami in the first round against the Indiana Pacers, where Dragic lead the team in scoring for most of the postseason. Miami handled their business against Indiana in just four games.
In the Second Round of the playoffs, Miami played the favorites to win it all in the Milwaukee Bucks. Dragic was again huge for Miami, killing Milwaukee’s guards in the pick and roll and attacking the rim while getting downhill.
Again, Miami took care of business and the next challenge at hand was the Boston Celtics. Coming into this series, I thought this would be Dragic’s toughest task, having to guard Boston Guard, Kemba Walker. Kemba’s quick and shifty, while I didn’t think Dragic could handle that quickness.
Gladly though, I was wrong. Dragic outplayed Walker at times offensively and even did an okay job against him defensively. Dragic hit clutch threes and attacked the basket at will.
