The Miami Heat are known for creating players like him. How would they do with a guy who already looks like a guy they would try to create?

Jerami Grant

Speaking of rumors on the Miami Heat, this one really got Miami fans excited for some reason. I really don’t get why.

In no way is this a knock towards Jerami Grant as I think he is a really good player and a player that a lot of teams would want on their roster. However, he opted out of 9 million and at 26 years old, he didn’t opt-out for the fun of it.

He opted out for a pay raise, which he should have. If I had to guess it, Grant will be looking for at least 15 million a year.

With Miami only having about 21 Million dollars in cap space and with other needs to fill, it probably won’t happen. Let me be clear though, if Miami were to sign Grant to a fair deal then I would be okay with it.

However, Miami can re-sign Derrick Jones Jr. for cheaper. Yes, Grant is better than Jones Jr., but I just feel like it’s not that much of an upgrade.
