Miami Heat: With one choice of any FA, it would be DeMarcus Cousins

The Miami Heat have been linked to a few people. With the trouble they had with bigs in the NBA Finals, DeMarcus Cousins is one of the only right answers.

The Miami Heat struggled to defend the paint in the NBA Finals. It doesn’t help a ton that Bam Adebayo missed a few games due to injury, but even when he was in there, it still wasn’t that awfully pretty.

The next declaration, or declarative question rather, is this. How healthy is DeMarcus Cousins?

Well, with an extended season and thus an extended offseason, it’s worth finding out. You would think that he is close to being back by now, with the injury occurring over a year ago last August.

While some reports indicated that he might want to head back to LA to be with the Lakers (flashback… it still hurts so bad), there is evidence that he might be looking to leave the West Coast behind for good. According to reports, he recently listed his Las Vegas home for sale.

Now, we won’t try to read tea leaves here, but that could be telling.

In any event and again, we can’t begin to act like we know the semantics of the whole thing on his end, however, what we do know is why he should be a prime target for the Miami Heat. First of all, if he is at least 70 percent back to himself, he is still an impact guy.
