The Miami Heat entered the offseason with clear goals and expectations, continue to tinker for the missing guy. Jerami Grant isn’t one of the best options.

The Miami Heat are in the middle of what is sure to continue to be a most interesting offseason. Coming off an NBA Finals bid, one they dropped to the Los Angeles Lakers, they are in prime position to get right back there.

As all teams imagine that, let’s go over a bit first why they are actually still there. The Miami Heat didn’t expect to do what they did this season, meaning this wasn’t their planned schedule.

That’s what the phrase “ahead of schedule” means, they were in the Finals at least a year before they planned or thought that they had the team to be. That is the first thing.

Secondly, they realized that though Jimmy Butler at times becomes a bit stagnant or repetitive on offense, he is capable of winning you at least two games in the NBA Finals, on his own. He showed us that in this past Finals.

Also, they now know that they have the formula to do it. They run through Bam when he’s on the floor, kick out to shooters, and put the ball in either Goran Dragic or Tyler Herro‘s hands when it isn’t Bam or Jimmy.

Also, they handled their business in the East pretty manageably, meaning that though teams are getting better and gearing up to beat Miami, they were clearly the best of the bunch. That brings us here though.

What or who, shall I say, are those missing pieces? Who could be the guy to take them over the top?

I don’t know who it is specifically, as there are a lot of guys out there betwixt the free-agent market and the draft, but I can tell you who it shouldn’t be. Follow me.
