The Miami Heat were within an earshot of winning an NBA title this past season. That has everything to do with why they should bring Goran Dragic back.

The Miami Heat almost did it this year. They were within an arm’s length of actually winning the title, but the Los Angeles Lakers proved to be too much for the boys from South Beach.

Here’s the thing though, it was closer than a lot of the final scores may indicate. For starters and no excuses, just facts, the Miami Heat were without two of their top three guys for a lot of the series.

Bam Adebayo, their big man and main ball-handler at times, was out for a few games due to an injury that he originally sustained in the Eastern Conference Finals but reaggravated in the NBA Finals.

Goran Dragic, the Miami Heat’s leading scorer through the playoffs and their guy when in a pinch offensively, didn’t suit up again until the final game after tearing his plantar fascia during the first half of Game 1. The Miami Heat simply weren’t themselves.

Injury is apart of every game and that, we can’t refute. There are no excuses as everyone plays through the same circumstances.

What can be said is this though, the Miami Heat were clearly not at full-strength nor anywhere close to it with so much firepower being out of their lineup for sustained amounts of time. They were still able to make a series out of it though.

That leads us to this thought. They were so close and with poor luck as far as health, that you have to imagine that things are a little bit different with everyone in tow, right?

Well, that’s what we think. We also think that they should have a chance, with slight tweaks and additions, to do it all over again.

One thing that should be left just how it was though is their sixth man throughout the regular year, The Dragon. With that, here are three reasons that Goran Dragic is a must re-sign for the Miami Heat.
