The Miami Heat have the chance to make drastic improvements in the short offseason. Outside of the draft, here are some options for them.

The Miami Heat are on the clock. This doesn’t only go as far as the NBA Draft goes, but it speaks towards their free agency pursuits as well.

When you follow the NBA for a considerable amount of time, it doesn’t take long to realize there’s actually two NBA seasons every year. The first season is the legit basketball season, where games are played, championships are won, and blah blah blah.

Then, there’s the second season. This is the season that some people love even more than the actual basketball season…it’s the off-season.

Fans love the off-season because anything can happen! Teams draft players, trade beloved stars, and also spend lots of money in free agency.

Today, I’ll be taking a look at who the Miami Heat should at least consider signing at every position. Some of these names will be very familiar to Heat fans.

Let’s dive in.

Point Guard

Goran Dragic

Last Season: 16.2 PPG, 5.1 APG, 3.2RPG, 44.1 FG%, 36.7 3P%, 77.6 FT%

After last season, it would be really tough to not bring back The Dragon, especially given the way his season ended with that foot injury. Goran Dragic displays everything you could ever want in a veteran leader.

He’s unselfish, a great mentor for young players, and he has a feisty edge that only comes from an Eastern European.

Dragic is also the perfect fit for what the Heat want to run on offense. Even with Kendrick Nunn eventually getting pushed to the starting role, Goran continued to do what he does best, make everyone better.

It also doesn’t hurt to have Jimmy as one of your best friends on the team. Those two shared a special bond last year and it would really be a sucker punch to the go-nads if we didn’t get to see it again next season.
