The Miami Heat are on the precipice of acquiring Jrue Holiday, we think.

All that being said, I love Jrue Holiday.

I think he’s a great player and he has one of the best stories in the entire league. Holiday is a guy who you never have to worry about in the locker room and he is always a positive influence in the community.

Miami would fall in love with Jrue within minutes of him putting on his first Vice City jersey. That’s a fact.

Here’s the million-dollar question though. What exactly is too much to give up for Holiday? Here’s realistically what Miami has to offer: their first-round pick (#20 overall), Andre Iguodala, Tyler Herro, Kelly Olynyk, Duncan Robinson, Kendrick Nunn, and Bam (just kidding).

If I’m Miami, I don’t mind giving up Iggy, Nunn, or the 20th pick. There are parts of Heat Twitter who are in love with Kendrick Nunn.

I am not necessarily one of those people, but I understand why you would really like Nunn. Here’s my counter, Jrue Holiday is arguably an All-Star in the Eastern Conference and I don’t think Nunn can ever get to that level and definitely not as consistently as Jrue has proven to be at that level.

The 20th pick in this draft is going to be more whatever than homerun. It’s been well documented that this draft isn’t the deepest and the top talent is what the kids would call sus.

But there are gems in every draft and let’s be honest, we are talking about the premier miners in the Miami Heat. But, I honestly believe Pat Riley would rather have a player that can play now, as opposed to gambling on striking gold in back to back drafts.

Iguodala and Olynyk are both expiring deals who could provide some veteran leadership for that New Orleans squad. If you’re the Pelicans, you can look at it as trying to make a run at some free agents in 2021 to try and pair with Zion.
