Miami Heat NBA Draft: Anticipate nothing but expect anything
The Miami Heat will soon be on the clock in the NBA Draft. If the last few years tell us anything, it’s that anybody left on the board is in play.
The Miami Heat are doing their due diligence on all of the NBA Draft prospects right now. With the 20th overall pick in this upcoming draft, their options will be wide-ranging, as the talent in that area of the draft really starts to even out across the board.
The Miami Heat have been connected to a few prospects, with most of them being guards. That doesn’t mean a thing though, as we have come to learn over the past few years.
In the past few drafts especially, the Miami Heat have been linked to certain prospects or positions, only for them to go in a completely opposite direction when it was all said and done with. The most recent example came just last year.
The Miami Heat have the 20th overall pick in the NBA Draft. None of us have a clue what they will do with it.
As the Miami Heat’s 13th selection got closer, many thought that they would take a Kentucky Wildcat. We all tended to think it would be P.J. Washington though.
He ended up going a pick just before that, but it turns out that the Miami Heat wanted to go with Tyler Herro all along. That’s at least what we were told by the organization.
We all know how that turned out. Not only does Tyler Herro seem like the absolute right pick at the moment, but he has turned out to be better than anyone could have possibly expected this early.
The Miami Heat have a few needed areas to fill, while there are a number of different prospects that are sure to be available when their time comes. We also can’t forget to mention the fact that they could trade the 20th pick or make a selection for someone else as apart of a trade as well.
There are a ton of options. The grand point of it all is this… don’t for a second think that you know what will happen with that pick, because they’ve zigged every time we thought they would zag in this position over the last few seasons.
We just have to trust it’s the right decision.
