The Miami Heat have a few younger guys on their team that could be enticing. It isn’t the one that you’re thinking though.

1. Kendrick Nunn

Kendrick Nunn is the Miami Heat’s most valuable asset. A Rookie Of The Year contender, second in fact, he had a slight lull to begin the bubble.

After contracting coronavirus and then having to leave the bubble for a family situation, it took him a while to get back into the swing of things. That also caused it to take a while to see him crack the rotation again.

When he did though, he showed some good things. He showed the things that he showed all last season.

Kendrick Nunn is what he is right now, although that doesn’t mean he won’t get better in all areas. What that is though is a guy with unconscious scoring ability.

Whether he is 8/8 or 1/8 from the floor, he is always going to attack and execute with confidence. You even noticed a progression in his mindset as the season progressed.

It went from completely irrational confidence to a controlled fearlessness that allowed him to hit big shots when his team needed them.

Look, Kendrick Nunn isn’t a perfect player, but he still has value. He has more value than a draft pick outside of the top five, if you ask me, maybe the top three.

I say that because he still, sort of, has the youth of a young guy in the draft, but he has the confidence and experience of a multi-year vet. He can come in and continue to bolster your youth movement, while also being a leader to the very youngest players on the squad.

Playing in Miami also does something for any player. He knows what a winning culture is supposed to look like. That can’t be denied.

You all thought I would say Tyler Herro somewhere in here, but here’s the thing, an asset is only an asset if you’re willing to move it. The Miami Heat shouldn’t be and aren’t looking to move Herro, he’s a bucket.

They should be looking to deal though. These are their three most valuable assets to do so.
