Can Maryland’s Jalen Smith slip in the upcoming NBA draft? Could he slide and become a Miami Heat target in the 2020 NBA Draft?

The Miami Heat are coming off a historical season. A season that surprised the league and had a shimmering glimpse of what this squad is really about.

With Jimmy Butler leading the way and Bam Adebayo as his Robin, this Heat team is a mere one piece shy from being a full-strength NBA championship contender.

Now, whether the Heat organization decides that piece is in free agency, a trade, or the NBA Draft, fans will have to remain patient and await what this short offseason will bring us.  But if they decide to shift towards the NBA draft, there are some names hovering around the 10th-20th picks that stand out as the potential missing piece Miami might need.

The Miami Heat are in need in a few areas. They could choose to finally officially fill their need at point guard.

They were manhandled down low at times in the NBA Finals, so they could look there to fill a need as well. This draft isn’t particularly strong though, by all accounts, so they would need something to stand out.

Is there anyone that does that?

In fact, one pops out more than any other. Let’s take a closer look.
