The Miami Heat have a knack for finding and developing raw talent. Could Kentucky center Nick Richards be the next one in line?

The Miami Heat are in draft mode right now, assuredly, as every other team in the league is as well. While this time of the year is usually, well, at a different time of the year with the NBA schedule being pushed back, it still comes with the same old hustle, bustle, and excitement as it normally does.

With that though, they must also start to look at all the prospects, high and low, far and wide, and everywhere in between, in hopes that they might just spot the prospect that will come in to fit their organization the best. Well, that’s usually how it goes for the first-round picks and even some early second-round picks.

After the first 25 picks though in the whole shebang, it’s typically about trying to earn a role on the team… as in a roster spot, nevertheless guaranteed time on the floor. On the flip side of that though is this, this is also the period for which GM’s, scouting departments, and developmental coaches begin to earn their money.

This is where teams have a chance to find the next great hidden gem, or player that no one heard about or expected to be as good as they eventually turn out to be. For what it’s worth and if you’ve lived under a rock for the past decade, of course, the Miami Heat are pretty good at finding these types of players.

This is where they really shine, to be honest. One last thing though, this is also where Kentucky Center, Nick Richards, enters the picture.
