The Miami Heat came into the Draft with a ton of beautiful options. The one that they ended up going with was Precious… Achiuwa, that is, from Memphis.

The Miami Heat came into the NBA Draft on a mission. They accomplished that mission if you ask me.

While the draft was one of the weaker ones on the top end, that led me to believe that a lot of really good players would slip and they did! The Miami Heat had their choice of a few guys that no one thought would be there at 20.

The guy that they ended up going with had been ranked as high as the Top 10 at points across his season and throughout this process. Precious Achiuwa was not only the American Athletic Conference’s Rookie Of The Year, but he was also a member of the first team.

What you like about Achiuwa is his size, his versatility, and his motor. Needless to say, he fits the culture.

The Miami Heat got a typical Heat guy at 20. We shouldn’t be upset at all.

If you are going to work your butt off then the Miami Heat can make you into a pretty solid professional NBA basketball player. Precious is going to work, based on everything I’ve seen from him.

With his god-given gifts and his skill set, not only could he just be a pretty good pro, but he could be a really good one. I hate to do comps because players can blossom so much but he has RoCo, Robert Covingtontraits about him.

He has the ability to be able to be a defensive machine from the very start. He’s long, he’s rangy, he’s athletic, he’s a worker, and he isn’t afraid.

His Twitter bio says “only the violent will survive”. That says all you need to know about the guy.

He will need to continue to polish up his overall offensive game and continue to develop his jump shot, but as far as the things we look for in Miami Heat players, he has it. Whether the shots are falling or not, he should continue to play like he’s scored 30 already.

Again, he just fits the culture. We’ll be diving in a bit deeper in the coming days but as of now, welcome Precious!

Let’s get ready to work!
