The Miami Heat got the potential steal of the draft, but they weren’t the only winners. Dallas did work as well.

Dallas Mavericks

Hey, speaking of smart teams, the Mavs had a great night last night. In addition to acquiring Josh Richardson in a trade with the 76ers, Dallas also picked up multiple shooters in the draft.

Let’s start with Arizona freshman Josh Green, who was picked at 18. Not the greatest shooter, but an athletic freak who was one of the best defenders in the PAC-12 last season.

At 6’6” and 210 pounds, Green will be able to switch to almost any player on the floor. If his shooting can improve, Dallas will have an absolute steal.

The Mavericks also came away with the darling of the 2020 draft class, Tyrell Terry. If you haven’t heard his story by now, Terry is a freshman from Stanford who shot up draft boards during quarantine because of his weight gain.

An awesome shooter, Terry will have the chance to play right away with the departure of Seth Curry in the Josh Richardson trade. Once Terry puts more weight on, he will be a force on offense and could emerge as one of the best offensive players in this draft.
