The Miami Heat are reportedly about to lock Bam Adebayo up for the long-term. They are doing what they have to do… because, well, they just have to.

The Miami Heat had a decent little NBA Free Agency haul and they had what appears to be a home run at the NBA Draft. Now, they must handle their in-house business.

While bringing back Goran Dragic was a major part of that equation, they must now fulfill another thing that must be an obligation to them. That’s getting Bam Adebayo locked into a long term pact with the team.

Well, it appears that they are doing just that. Here’s the latest according to Shams Charania of The Athletic.

Holy money bags Batman! That’s a lot of dough!

The Miami Heat needed to show Bam Adebayo that he was a priority. That required showing him the money and that’s just what they are doing.

But Bam’s earned it. He’s the example of what teams now want their big men to look like.

He can handle it on offense, finish at the rim, has a flourishing jump shot, and initiates some of the Miami Heat’s most deadly sets. Defensively, the man is a savant.

Not only is he capable of and does guard all five positions on the floor when it’s called for, but he can protect the rim/paint, and all while being one of their main sources of communication on the defensive side of the ball.

A lot of reactions seem to think that this is an “overpay” or bloated deal, but I only have one question for those people, do you even watch basketball? Bam Adebayo is the equivalent of a 5-tool player in baseball.

He’s Mike Trout. He’s Mookie Betts.

There is nothing that he can’t do on the basketball court, literally. Throw in the fact that he does all of this at 6’10” and over 250 pounds, then you have yourself one solid, basketball-playing, running, cutting, jumping, handling, dunking, manchild, and tank of a man.

Next. Miami Heat may have their next Derrick Jones Jr. type. dark

That’s what Bam Adebayo is and that’s why he’s getting the bag. Lastly and in case you couldn’t figure out how I felt by now, he deserves it all.
