The Miami Heat could use a bit more scoring punch, as well as the fact that you can never have enough shooting. This is why they should look into Lou Williams.

He Is On An Expiring Contract

The Miami Heat have made it a point over the last few seasons to maintain financial flexibility for what is poised to be a loaded free-agent class next offseason. That is something that’s not only been reflected in their deals before this offseason but something that has also been apart of their thinking this offseason.

Potentially bringing in Lou Williams doesn’t impact that. He’s on the last year of his current deal already.

Let’s say he plays well, both parties like the situation, and he wants to come back if it happens. Well, that’s fine too, because they can then work out a deal after the season.

You also throw in the fact that even at eight million dollars annually right now, you can’t imagine a deal being more than that per year the next time around, if it isn’t slightly or much cheaper. I can actually see him taking a deal between $4-6 million in the right situation, especially if that is one where he is comfortable and thinks he can win a title.

It’s actually a pretty good situation to investigate if you’re Miami. That’s the first reason why they should look into his situation with his current team.
