The Miami Heat got everything that Jimmy Butler had to give them last season. He could be a little better though and his bold prediction is how.

The Miami Heat went as far as they did last season because of Jimmy Butler and how he played. We knew what we were getting though, as he’s been this guy for most of his career.

What we didn’t know about last season when it came to Jimmy though is this. He not only wouldn’t be a very good three-point shooter, but he wouldn’t even take a ton of them.

On 2.1 attempts per game and yes, just 2.1 attempts in the NBA for a wing in 2020 and beyond, he shot just 24.4 percent. Basically, he made less than a half three-point shot per game, which is impossible but speaks to just how bad he was from distance last season and how few he took.

That leads us to his bold prediction for the 2020-21 season and yes, it is a bold one. Here goes nothing.

The Miami Heat’s Jimmy Butler will shoot with more frequency and better accuracy from three in 2020-21 season. That’s my bold prediction for him.

Bold Prediction: He’ll shoot 33 percent or better from downtown on three or more attempts per game

The Miami Heat’s leader not only needs to start hitting more but in order to give himself the best chance to do that, he simply needs to take more shots from deep. Less than a half of a make per game just won’t do it in this NBA.

Besides, he will only help himself by taking more, regardless of if he is hitting them or not. Now, of course, we would like him to convert most of the three-point attempts that he takes but by simply being hesitant to take them, he allows the defense to sag off of him totally because they know he isn’t going to take them.

On top of the fact that expanding his game only helps to better serve his team, he is smart enough to see how it negatively impacts his individual game as well. I fully expect him to remedy that situation.

That’s why this is my bold prediction for Jimmy Butler this season.
