Miami Heat: Three Goals for Precious Achiuwa’s Rookie Season
Finally and arguably the most vital goal to Anchiuwa reaching his ceiling in the NBA. The Heat have many very smart and experienced players, which is something the rookie must take advantage of.
Quite possibly the most important goal for his rookie season, Precious needs to utilize and maximize his resources during his rookie campaign. Miami has one of the strongest franchise structures among NBA teams and that is an asset if used correctly.
From the front office to the coaching staff, the Heat have people in place that will work with him to make him a better player. If he buys in, especially in year one, he’ll put himself on a path that many rookies don’t have the option of taking.
Further, Miami also rosters a plethora of players that are assets to a young player. Udonis Haslem and Andre Iguodala have seen it all in the league.
Jimmy Butler and Goran Dragic have experienced the NBA from quite a few different perspectives. Tyler Herro, Duncan Robinson, and Kendrick Nunn are even assets to help Achiuwa adjust to the league.
The main focus of this goal though is the first two players listed. Haslem and Iggy are champions who are extremely respected by both teammates and peers around the Association.
If Precious Achiuwa wants to be the best he can be, he should emphasize spending time around those veterans in his first year. Those are his three Goals for the year.
Goal: Shadow Haslem and Iggy and Fully Buy Into the Miami Heat Way
Achiuwa will, one day, be an impact player based on his current skills, hustle, frame, and athleticism. However, if he can take these goals seriously and start to develop upon them early, as early as this season, he could be well on his way to becoming one of the next great Miami Heat players.
