The Miami Heat are the toast of the Eastern Conference until someone else butters the bread. Are the Wizards stacked enough to do it now?

The Miami Heat’s Road Just Got Tougher

As if the Eastern Conference wasn’t already going to be tough enough to win again, things just got a bit more complicated. Throw out the fact that you have the resurging Brooklyn Nets to manage, the 76ers and their new regime, a retooled and motivated Boston Celtics, let alone the Jrue Holiday deploying Milwaukee Bucks that still has the MVP in tow as well.

Again, things are a bit complicated. Here’s where things get interesting with Washington though.

Simply put, they got better. That’s explained in a few things, but a little bit by the fact that they had to ship out something to acquire the player that makes nearly the same amount of money as the guy they shipped out and who they have just as much control over for the next year or so.

One of the guys has also been an MVP, a multiple-time scoring and assist champion, and has multiple All-NBA appearances, while the other guy has mostly none of that on his resume, except one All-NBA team appearance. Again, the Wizards are now the home of the better player involved in this deal.

The Miami Heat have what it takes to do it all over again, as they have the guts. However, this move, along with everything else that’s going on in the NBA’s Eastern Conference right now, doesn’t make those prospects any less daunting.
