For a long time, many Miami Heat fans have wanted to land Bradley Beal. This deal all but seals up the fact that he’s staying in Washington… at least for now.

Say Bye-Bye To Your Bradley Beal Trade Machine Scenarios

The Miami Heat have seemingly been hot on the trails of Bradley Beal for some time now. Or have they?

It doesn’t seem to matter much now though. That’s, at least, at the moment.

The Washington Wizards have given Bradley Beal the proper incentive and enticement to stay put… for now. I mean, there is hope if this thing with him and Westbrook goes sour, which it can, but that won’t be for at least another season or so.

Here is an interesting thought from David Aldridge of The Athletic (subscription required). You don’t even have to dive that deep to see what we mean.

The headline of the piece in question reads The Wizards had to choose, and they chose Bradley Beal over John Wall. That’s it.

Nothing else needed. That says a ton and it says it all.

The Washington Wizards prioritized the guy who’s been there and sticking through it all, while the other guy was hurt. They waited until the other guy got healthy enough to be able to move him for something and did it, while at the same time, getting the guy they wanted to keep in Beal another running mate to help potentially propel them into contention.

Again, this move said it all. They chose their guy and now they are building around and for him.

The Miami Heat still have a shot at landing him, it just seems like it won’t be anytime in the near future. That’s alright though.

The Miami Heat beat up on Washington before this move and they will continue to do so. It will continue to be a hot ticket though as far as the quality of the games and even more so with the Westbrook addition.

I can’t wait. The games were already good between the two teams, but now they may be as exciting as they ever have been.
