The Miami Heat might just have the assets to land James Harden, but is it worth it to move them for a guy who will leave next year?

Trading Away The Core

The Miami Heat made a run last season with the core that they have. Landing a player like James Harden would likely take all of that core that isn’t Bam and Jimmy to make a deal happen.

Is it worth it? That’s the question here.

It’s a two-pronged question though. Here’s the first one.

Does he make you good enough to win right now? With the questions asked earlier, about the differences in styles of play amongst other issues that could potentially arise, is that gamble worth the guys it would take to land him?

With what they currently have, they know what they can do. No one is able to say what they could do if Harden comes along.

He wasn’t able to take Houston to glory all of those years and now, he’s the missing piece in Miami? I have a hard time buying that without contesting.

That’s the just the first part of it though. Part two is this.

What about next season, after he’s gone and the Miami Heat have traded good young pieces? That’s a good question, right?
