The Miami Heat might have an interest in James Harden. If they make a deal happen, here are three things they must make happen.
The Miami Heat open their NBA preseason on Monday against the Pelicans, but that doesn’t mean that they are quite finished constructing their team for this season yet. With the rumor mill on fire though and ironically enough, with the Miami Heat’s name at the top of the heap, there may be more to come.
We have all heard the James Harden rumors by now. What we didn’t know, however, was how the Heat actually felt about it all.
According to reports though, they are listening. Here is a word on the subject from Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald.
"Five Reasons Sports Network reported the Heat and Rockets have had conversations about Harden, and a source said the Heat would be among suitors if the Rockets decide to move ahead with a trade. But the source disputed any suggestion that Heat guard Tyler Herro would be untouchable in such a deal. Though the Heat loves Herro, the source advised against any conclusion that he wouldn’t be made available in a Harden deal if serious talks eventually happen. He would be in play."
The first part of that is the most useful part, in general, but we will come back to the final part. There are things to think about though.
With the Heat supposedly potentially interested in a deal, let’s say it does happen. If they do make a deal for James Harden, here are three things that must happen for the Miami Heat as well.
