The Miami Heat are always one of the most well-coached, organized, and prepared teams in sports.
The Miami Heat are who they are because they do things the way they do them. That stems all the way from the very top, Pat Riley for those who don’t know, down to the coaches led by Erik Spoelstra, and throughout the bench and locker room.
It’s no secret that they constantly overachieve and outperform the range or levels that their talent says that they should be at. That’s what great leadership does and the Miami Heat have it.
We aren’t the only ones who can see that though. Presumably, after everyone wrote them off last season, people around the league were severely impressed with what Coach Spo and his staff were able to do through last year and the Bubble.
The Miami Heat are who they are because of who leads them. On the court, on the bench, and at the top.
Well, you say that because the latest measure or temperature of the situation says so. Take this piece of information, from Tim Reynolds of the Associated Press.
"From the NBA GM survey: The Miami Heat’s Erik Spoelstra swept the coaching categories, earning best coach (46%), best manager/motivator of people (32%) and best in-game adjustments (26%)."
Remember, this is the same Erik Spoelstra who constantly gets looked over and passed up when it comes to giving coaches their due. Remember, this is the same Coach Spo who has lost out on accolades on multiple occasions, while said accolade went to a less deserving guy.
This is the same Coach Spoelstra that one Dan Dakich, college basketball analyst and commentator, called “Just A Guy”. Yea, all of that.
We know what we have down in Miami. We always have.
That’s why it’s such a thing to most of us when he’s disrespected, discredited, or slept on by the masses. Look, you can’t please everyone and we won’t try.
However, when something is as clear as the fact is that Coach Spo is among the NBA’s elite when it comes to coaching, you have to nip it in the bud immediately. Coach Spo is one of the best doing it and the rest of the league thinks so too.
