The Miami Heat keep Udonis Haslem around for a reason and that’s bigger than any of your opinions.

Miami Heat legend, veteran, and Lifer, Udonis Haslem, has returned for yet another season. Back for year 17, the Miami Heat’s longest-tenured player finds himself primed for another year of mentoring and busting the chops of all the guys around them.

His role at this point is less about what he can do on the floor, but more about what he can do everywhere else. When it comes to making sure that guys are practicing the right way, hard and with purpose, UD is probably the tone-setter.

When it comes to making sure that the main thing is always the main thing, referencing staying focused on the task at hand regardless of the circumstances, Udonis is one of the guys tasked with making sure they remain grounded. Lastly, when it comes to being a bridge between the coaches, front office, or decision-makers and the players, UD is definitely one of the strongest voices in that area.

He still has immense value. Here’s his bold prediction.

Udonis Haslem Will Make A Meaningful Impact In At Least One Game This Season

The Miami Heat have a few options at the forward positions but they aren’t the deepest at those spots. Because of that, I believe that Udonis Haslem will be called upon at some point this season.

I am not saying that he will explode or have a huge game, of any magnitude. However, be that of a stretch of two minutes, four minutes, or longer, he will make an impact this season.

Again, he isn’t still there because of what he brings the Heat on the court. He’s there for how he helps the rest of the team be their best selves on the court night in and night out.

I still hope he gets the chance to show he still has it though. Hopefully, he fulfills the prediction.
